To determine the performance of audio master unit, the most direct method is to check its technical index in the following aspects:

1. Output power: the power marked on master unit is music power between 40W and 60W.

2. Frequency response: the frequency that people can hear is between 20HZ and 20KHZ. This index must reach this value at least and the wider the better.

3. Signal-noise ratio: it is the ratio of music signal and noise. The value for high grade car audio is higher than 90DB and the higher the better.

4. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): this index indicates the restoration of audio. Lower value indicates higher restoration and better audio effect.

 The power amplifier is the heart of the audio system. The power of the amplifier and quality are very important to the music playing. The power amplifier of common automobile is designed in the master unit and the power is between 10W and 45W. However, it isn’t possible to listen to the digital music of multilayer and high power. The objective is to raise the 12V voltage of the power supply to 35V-45V and drive the high power speaker with high voltage.  The speaker is the indispensable equipment in the audio system. All music sends sound through the speaker, like people’s throat. It is the only equipment that converts the electric energy to “sound”. The quality of the speaker is ultimately important to the audio quality of the system. The speaker consists of bass unit, mediant unit and treble unit. These three units are responsible for different frequencies respectively, but they have same work principle.

2. More inbuilt components in the frequency divider of the speaker don’t indicate better performance: it is the quality rather than the quantity of the components that determines the performance.

3. Make sure the speaker won’t be burnt under significant vibration in no distortion state: in the state that the sound isn’t distorted, if the speaker has higher vibration frequency, it means that it has higher sensitivity and stronger representation of audio. It won’t be burnt. However, in the distortion state, the condition is different.

4. Bigger magnet of the speaker doesn't indicate better performance: the magnets are divided into high density, low density, strong magnetism and weak magnetism. If the speaker use low density weak magnetism magnet, it won’t have good effect, and is too big to install.
